The Half Moon is one of the few traditional fishing inns remaining in Devon. It has its own fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout along ten miles of the River Torridge. It has thirteen bedrooms and (as you might expect) is pet friendly.
But you don’t have to fish to enjoy the Half Moon – a wide range of beers and wines are served and an extensive menu is available in both the restaurant and the bar.
The Half Moon is run by its owners Chris and Tony Green, and is known as an excellent destination and meeting place for visitors from all over the world, as well as being a “proper local” for the villagers.
The Village Quiz is held in the pub at 8.00 p.m. on the second Sunday of every month. It is always highly entertaining, and everyone is welcome to join in.
