The Sheepwash Chronicle is the newsletter magazine for and about the little village of Sheepwash and its surrounding area. Sheepwash is located near the centre of the beautiful county of Devon (UK), within easy reach of Dartmoor, Exmoor, and the coast.
The Chronicle was first produced in 1991, as an occasional “what’s on” newsletter, and gradually evolved into a full-blown A4 size magazine. A free copy of each issue is delivered to every household in the village and surrounding parish.
We now publish six issues a year – Winter (February), Spring (April), Summer (June), Harvest (August), Autumn (October), and Christmas (December). We are entirely self-funding, from advertising.
Some Sheepwash villagers send copies of the Chronicle to friends and relatives – as far away as Australia in one case! – so we thought it would be a good idea to set up this website as an easy way for anyone to read about what’s been happening and what’s coming up in Sheepwash, as well as lots of other useful information about the village and surrounding area.
We still intend to continue producing and distributing paper copies of each issue as usual, but we also plan to make each current issue available in electronic form as soon as it is completed (a few days before we get the printed copies back from the printer). All the old issues will be available to read online as well, as fast as we can make time to upload them.
The website is still very much a work in progress, so we welcome suggestions on what should be included – we’d like this site to be a “one stop shop” for everything about Sheepwash and the surrounding area.
